Four fabulous walks, all less than an hour by train from London. Box Hill and Back is a shortish loop around Box Hill in the Surrey Hills with a couple of good hills and a great pub. Easily accessible from London Waterloo and Victoria. Head for the Hills starts at Guildford Sation, just 35 minutes from London Waterloo. Those that have walked it are always amazed how rural this walk is, yet so close to London. Bound for the Beacon is 40 minutes from London Euston and a great adventure in The Chiltons. A Walk in the Park is only 30 minutes from London Bridge or Charing Cross and starts from Sevenoaks. Explore Knole Park and be amazed how much fun you can have in the outdoors so close to London.

Just up the railway line is Hathersage, the start of “The Dark Peak“. Enjoy Bronte country and Stanage Edge. The collection includes “Maunder in the Malverns“, a great walk with 360 dgree views from the Worcester Beacon accessible from Great Malvern Station. Finally, have a go at “A Break in Brecon” starting from Abergavenny Station in South Wales. All these walks make for great weekend adventures. It’s  long but there is an excellent short cut. “The Heart of England” starts and finishes at Moreton-in- Marsh Station and meanders through undulating Cotswold countryside through gorgeous villages culminating by passing Sezincote. “The Corner of the Cotswolds” starts and finishes at Charlbury Station and passes by historic Ditchley Park. Enjoy stunning countryside and an excellent pub stop.
