The Hampshire Hangers: A circular walk from Petersfield Station with outstanding views, literary connections and a great pub (or two)

As you approach Petersfield, you should be able to catch a glimpse of where you are heading – uphill! There are a couple of climbs but the views make the effort worth it. Reflect on the many references to Edward Thomas, one of England’s most distinguished poets. Enjoy traversing the Ashford Hangers and emerging at the Hawkley Inn for lunch. There are options for the return leg including a visit to The Harrow, a well-known local hostelry.
