The Curator Patrick Morton
Meet the Curator
Patrick is CEO at Vespucci Adventures, which perhaps sounds a bit more glamorous than it is, but when you are only a small team, everyone gets a fancy title! He spends his day-to-day trying to persuade people to get outside and to enjoy the beautiful nature that we have on our doorstep. He grew up on a farm and then spent time living on the west coast of Canada, where he really got a taste for outdoor adventures.
“A day out in Greenwich is an absolute must for any Londoner, home to arguably the best view over the capital as well as being steeped in history, this walk is the perfect tonic to the busy London life. We recommend getting to Greenwich on the Thames clipper, which is a great experience in itself.
Our route takes you up the hill in Greenwich Park where you have one of the best views over the entire capital, it’s well worth the short, steep climb! There are plenty of options for pit stops along the way, but we think the Hare and Billet (Halfway) and the Trafalgar Tavern (The end) are iconic watering holes that can’t be missed!”

Embankment Pier is just a 1-minute walk from Embankment Station (Bakerloo, Circle, District, and Northern lines). We recommend using Citymapper to plan your route.
Sometimes, we can get so caught up in reaching our destination that we forget to take in our surroundings. When in fact, some of the best moments on a walk are the ones spent not walking. It is not until you stop and look a little closer, that you truly see the magic of where you are.
Our hikes are not about how fast you walk, but about how much you take in. We share these beautiful trails with an abundance of wildlife and there’s always something to marvel at – so long as you take the time to look around.
The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, a historic riverside pub established in 1837, is renowned for its stunning views of the River Thames and its rich Victorian heritage. Located near the Old Royal Naval College, it has been a beloved gathering spot for locals and visitors alike for nearly two centuries. The pub’s elegant Regency-style architecture and interior evoke the grandeur of its early days when it hosted notable figures such as Charles Dickens. The charm of this spot cannot be overstated! It’s a firm Vespucci favourite.
